Get to know the Eco Mode Feature on Tadano Construction Heavy Equipment
United Tractors, Jakarta – Heavy construction equipment is a series of tools that are able to support heavy work in the construction sector. The presence of heavy equipment in the construction sector will help progress so that targets can be achieved more quickly. There are many types of heavy equipment that you can find in the world of construction. One of them is heavy crane equipment.
A crane is a type of heavy equipment that functions as a lifter of heavy materials. The lifting capacity varies and can reach thousands of tons. If you are looking for heavy crane equipment for construction work, you can adjust its capacity to the needs in the field.
Operating a crane requires a lot of energy, considering that the work that a crane unit can do is no joke. When you own heavy equipment, you have to prepare many detailed costs, ranging from operational costs to maintenance. If you want to reduce your budget for operational costs, one method you can apply is to use fuel-efficient heavy equipment.
What kind of heavy equipment can save fuel? In this modern era, heavy equipment provides features to save fuel. One heavy equipment manufacturer that already has this feature is Tadano.
Tadano is a hydraulic crane manufacturer that has been paving since 1948. Carrying the concept of “Safety, Quality, and Efficiency,” Tadano is present among Indonesian people together with United Tractors to realize the operation of heavy equipment safely, reliably, and efficiently.
By prioritizing these three aspects, Tadano has products that are equipped with environmentally friendly features and can save fuel. Let’s learn about the features of heavy equipment from Tadano that can minimize fuel consumption by up to 30%.
Tadano Fuel Monitoring System on AML-C Display
Tadano products, especially rough terrain cranes, are specially designed with features that can minimize the impact of environmental damage. The Tadano rough terrain crane is equipped with a Fuel Monitoring System which you can see on the AML-C (Automatic Moment Limiter) monitor.
AML-C is a feature on Tadano cranes that allows you to monitor the overall condition of the crane machine. On the AML-C screen, it will be displayed what the current condition of the boom is, how much operating pressure is on the elevator cylinder, the size of the lifting capacity, and what the slewing position is when it is in use.
This AML-C feature makes it very easy for operators to operate the crane, so that the level of safety is more guaranteed.
The AML-C monitor also shows the Fuel Monitoring System, a feature that will monitor fuel usage on Tadano cranes. This system will monitor fuel consumption levels when the crane is in use, when the crane is in an idle position, and when the crane is used for traveling.
With this feature, it is easier for operators to optimize fuel efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions, and also reduce noise levels. The Fuel Monitoring System display is as follows.
- Working Display
When the Tadano crane is operated, two displays will appear that will indicate fuel consumption, namely a display in the form of a Numeric Display and a Bargraph Display. You can adjust these two views to suit your needs, depending on which one is easier to read. To change these two displays, you simply click the “display change” button.
Apart from that, there is also a Current Fuel Consumption display, which will provide information on how much fuel has been consumed when the machine is operating, and an Average Fuel Consumption display, which shows the average amount of fuel consumed when heavy equipment is in use.
- Driving Display
Similar to the Working Display, the Driving Display also has two types of displays that indicate fuel consumption, namely Numeric and Bargraph Display. The difference is that these features will only appear when the heavy machine is in the idle position or is being run.
In driving mode, there is also an Average Fuel Consumption While Traveling and While Idling display which shows the average amount of fuel used when the unit is running and in the idle position, as well as a Current Fuel Consumption While Traveling and While Idling feature, which provides information on how much fuel is used when idling and traveling.
Two Features to Save Fuel Consumption
Apart from the Fuel Monitoring System, Tadano is also equipped with Eco Mode and Positive Control System features, which make Tadano heavy equipment one of the most environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient heavy equipment. Here is the review.
- Eco Mode System
Eco mode is a system that controls the maximum engine running speed during crane operation. The Eco Mode System functions as a fuel-saving feature that will prevent unnecessary increases in engine speed when excessive acceleration occurs.
On the Eco Mode System screen, there are two main displays, namely the Eco Mode Switch and the Eco Mode Indicator. On the Eco Mode Switch, you can change the mode to Eco Mode 1, which can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by a maximum of 22%. Or, switch to Eco Mode 2, which will reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 30%.
- Positive Control System
Next, there is the Positive Control System feature, which is a feature that can effectively control the number of hydraulic pump releases during the operation of the Tadano crane. When the crane is in idle condition, this Positive Control System will keep the number of hydraulic pump discharges to a minimum, thereby reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20%.
In the Positive Control System, two modes can be applied, namely non-operating mode and operating mode. Non-operating mode is a mode that keeps the hydraulic pump discharge quantity to a minimum level so that the reduction in fuel consumption becomes more significant.
Meanwhile, in the operating mode feature, the hydraulic pump will function effectively in response to the number of movements on the operating lever, so that there will be no excessive movement, which makes fuel consumption more wasteful.
Those are some of the efficiency aspects of the Tadano heavy equipment dashboard display that you can learn about. Having heavy equipment that can save fuel consumption will be very profitable. Apart from being more efficient and being able to minimize operational expenses, heavy equipment that is equipped with the Eco Mode feature, such as the Tadano rough terrain crane, is also more environmentally friendly to use.
There are various ways to use this fuel-saving feature. Some minimize engine speed, and some keep the hydraulic pump discharge above a minimum. With this technology, the level of fuel consumption efficiency will be higher, and the reduction in CO2 emissions will also be more significant.
