UT Tips: Cleaning Inside Of Cooling System For Komatsu Bulldozer
UTtips, Jakarta: To optimize the function, every heavy equipment or machine needs to be maintaned on a regular basis. Maintenance can be a simple self maintenance or an assisted maintenance with a mechanic. In this article, PT United Tractors Tbk (United Tractrors) as a Komatsu distributor in Indonesia, will share information about the steps for simple self maintenance, a method for cleaning inside of cooling system on the Komatsu Bulldozer engine.
Remove water and drain the coolant system
Firstly, you need to open the radiator cap. Then remove the radiator coolandt by open the drain valve to drain the coolant. Place the container under drain valve to receive the coolant.
After draining the coolant, close the drain valve and add city water. Start the engine by run it at low idle for approximately 10 minutes. Configurate the speed to fill and drain water in order to make the radiator stays full. After 10 minutes, turn off the engine and drain the used rinse by opening the drain valve and closing it again if all the water has been removed.
Clean the cooling system with washer fluid
Clean the cooling system with a washer fluid then dispose the water. Close the drain valve and refill the cooling system with clean water until it is full.
After that, open the drain valve and run the engine at low idle, rinse until the water purified. Configurate the speed of filling and draining to keep the radiator cap stays full.
Add radiator coolant in the filling hole and remove air in the cooling system
When it has finished, turn off the engine then close the drain valve. After that, add radiator coolant to overflow in the filling hole.
Then remove the air in the cooling system by starting the engine for 5 minutes at low speed, followed by high speed for 5 minutes with the radiator cap removed. You might turn off the engine and wait for 3 minutes, afterward add the water again until it overflows in the filling hole.
