Optimalisasi Pemadatan Lapisan Aspal: Teknologi Oscillation dan Asphalt Manager

United Tractors, Jakarta: The need for asphalt coating in road construction has increased in recent decades. It is necessary to have good asphalt compaction product and process to meet specification standards and be durable enough to build high-quality roads like highway roads and racing venues. However, there are several obstacles in technical aspects that result in reduced asphalt surface quality. The compaction process is one of the factors that affect the quality.

As a distributor of Bomag, United Tractors presents the Bomag Tandem Roller with modern technology to facilitate various types of work-project in Indonesia. The drum is the most substantial part of the tandem roller to compact the asphalt. Therefore, the drum must be designed with a capable technology to produce smooth and dense asphalt compaction.

The Bomag Tandem Roller offers three variants of drum technology: conventional vibrating system, TanGO (Tangential Oscillation), and Asphalt Manager. In the conventional vibrating system, the drum is equipped with a vibrating system at the front and rear with a choice of either high or low amplitude so that the machine can work to compact the asphalt layer with optimal density results.

TanGO (Tangential Oscillation)

The TanGO (Tangential Oscillation) technology is a drum system with an eccentric rotation that uses two exciter shafts. These two shafts rotate in the same direction. TanGO’s location is on the back of the drum with one amplitude that is suitable in all conditions. The drum vibrations work tangentially to the asphalt surface so that the vibrations generated do not destroy the material or bump the asphalt surface.

Oscillation Technology (TanGO) produces excellent compaction results. This tool is ideal for task that require precise processes such as compacting thin layers and connector areas. This machine is also suitable for layer compaction on bridges construction, vibration-sensitive terrain such as residential areas, and other projects that require precise surface levelling like racing circuits and airport runways.

Asphalt Manager

Bomag Asphalt manager technology is the best solution for all asphalt compaction projects from thick to thin layer compaction. Asphalt manager technology allows the drum on the Bomag tandem roller to adjust the strength and direction of drum vibration according to the asphalt density read by the drum sensor both automatically and manually.

The exciter on the drum can rotate in a linear direction resulting in a robust compaction capability. If you want to apply it to the compaction of thin layers, the vibration direction of the exciter can also be adjusted to a horizontal position.

The use of this technology can certainly make it easier for the operator at the time of operation. For example, if the sensor reads a weak spot during compaction, the position of the exciter drum will automatically adjust to the vertical direction.

Bomag Asphalt Manager is also equipped with a screen in the operating cab to provide information on the temperature and density value of the asphalt being compacted in machine of E-VIB (MN/m2). With this information, the operator can reduce the number of passes in the compacted areas. Bomag Asphalt Manager can be equipped with the optional BCM 05 technology and the Bomag GPS feature so that field supervisors can monitor and evaluate the overall asphalt compaction work according to the coordinates of the work that has been done.
