When the outriggers and jacks are out, look at the bottom of the unit. If the outrigger bin is out and the jacks are down on the ground, the unit will no longer rest on the tires. - Bubble Level
When the crane unit is no longer resting on the tires, make sure the bubble level is balanced in the center and indicates that the unit is level. - Install Lock Pin
If the bubble level is balanced, don’t forget to lock the lock pin back on the outrigger slider to make the lifting process safer. - Outrigger Registration
After locking the lock pin, the operator can immediately activate the PTO and the AML display will light up. If the AML is active on the monitor screen, the outrigger registration process, lifting status, and number of part lines can be set. - Checking the Load Chart
Before the lifting process begins, make sure the operator double checks the suitability of the load through the load chart. Ensure that the lifted load does not exceed the maximum lifting capacity. Then, prepare the load to be lifted and the hanging sling. - Setting the Boom
If the load and hanging sling are ready, then set the boom length and lifting angle as required. - Hooking the Load
When the hook has descended close to the load, remove the hook block from the stowing position and make sure the rigger correctly hooks the load on the hook. - Ensure Lifting Area Safety
In order not to damage the facilities around the work field, the rigger must ensure the safety of the lifting area. If it is deemed safe, then it is time for the lifting process to begin. - Rigger Briefing
If the preparation is complete, the rigger is ready to direct the operator during the lifting process using hand signals. Perform the load lifting if the rigger shows the winch-up signal. When the rigger gives the left swing or right swing signal, shift the load as directed.
Then, perform a combination of lowering the boom while raising the load if the rigger performs the boom down and winch up signals. Finally, the operator can lower the load if the rigger performs the winch-down signal. - Lifting Process Completed
When the load is at the intended point, make sure the unit is returned to its original state by releasing the sling or chain from the hook block. Next, position the unit in traveling condition and turn off the PTO. After that, release the lock pin on the outrigger and raise the outrigger bin and jack again. When it’s up, don’t forget to lock the lock pin back into the locking hole.
