United Tractors and Scania Commits for Sustainable Transport System in Indonesia

Climate change is real. One of the triggers for drastic climate change is increasing earth’s surface temperature of greenhouse effect or often called as global warming. The increasing greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide (CO2), is a direct impact of fossil fuel vehicles.
Population growth in urban areas and the flow of urbanization are factors that drive requirements for sufficient transportation system to support high mobility and response to the challenges of climate change. Considers current condition of public transportation, people prefer to use private vehicles therefore increasing the level of congestion and causing poor air quality.

Driving the Shift
Scania, -produsen of bus and truck- an international brand from Sweden, has vision that“Driving the Shift towards a Sustainable Transport System” by creating a better mobility for business, society and the environment.
Scania’s approach to sustainable transport consist of three pillars that are Energy Efficiency, Alternative Fuels & Electrification, and Smart & Safe Transport. Scania together with United Tractors as Scania’s sole distributor in Indonesia, commit to achieve the sustainable transportation system.

Moving People, Changing Minds
In-line with the motto of “Moving People, Changing Minds” as a form of consistency to realize the people mind transformation, United Tractors and Scania introduced Scania City Bus K250IB-4×2 at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) 2020 exhibition.
In terms of safety, Scania has a reliable braking system in the form of Anti-lock and Electronic Braking System (ABS / EBS). Meanwhile in terms of comfort, Scania uses the best air suspension and automatic transmission in its class. Scania buses are equipped with engines which is efficient in fuel consumption. It also able to use biodiesel B30 to B100, and environment friendly.

Alternative Fuels & Electrification
Scania has pioneered the use of alternative fuels for more than 30 years, now able to offer the widest range of vehicles to support alternative fuels usage, including biogas, bioethanol, biodiesel and hybrid electric buses.

In 2017, Scania started its first field tests of battery-based electric buses in the northern Swedish city of Östersund and continue until today to ensure battery performance in seasonal climate of cold winters and moderately warm summers still work optimally.

United Tractors and Scania commit to support government programs in the implementation of electric buses which is delivered at UT booth – GIICOMVEC exhibition on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Scania Electric Bus is the best solution for the city of Jakarta to create a blue Jakarta sky with good air quality.
