SCANIA P360CB-6×4 & SCANIA P410CB-8×4 New Tough Off-Road Scania Trucks

28 September 2016

United Tractors’ (UT) business partners will surely be delighted with United Tractors’ new off-road Scania trucks, tough transportation vehicles designed specifically to operate on rough terrain, and a most valuable asset for United Tractors’ clients. The two outstanding types are the Scania P360CB-6×4 and the Scania P410CB-8×4.

The Scania off-road trucks’ performance and quality are superior, especially when the vehicles are used for mining activities. In open coal mining, the Scania P360CB-6×4 is the proper choice for the job of overburden hauling and coal hauling, i.e. transporting the overburden material or top soil to the disposal area and delivering the coal to the stockpile site. The Scania P410CB-8×4 is especially suitable for hauling coal to the port/jetty.

Supreme with Cutting-edge Engine Technology
Both these types of premium vehicles are equipped with the state-of-the-art engine type DC13 with a capacity of 13,000 cc. Among other engines of the same type, Scania’s engines are well-known for their efficiency in fuel use and excellent performance.

In the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) 41-ton class, the Scania P360CB-6×4 generates a maximum power of 360 HP with a maximum torque of 1750 Nm, which can be achieved at the low rpm of 1000-1350. In the 50-ton GVW class, the Scania P410CB-8×4 produces a maximum power of 410 HP with a maximum torque of 2000 Nm, which can be achieved at the low rpm of 1000-1350.

Both trucks are equipped with the new transmission type GRS0925 opticruise, which produces an automatic 14-gear shift acceleration. This new transmission type comes with an off-road mode, which allows for uninterrupted traction while traveling uphill fully loaded on rugged terrain. The Scania P410CB-8×4 in particular is equipped with a retarder or additional brake to boost safety when braking, thus conserving brake pads.

Comfort and Safety Features
These two Scania off-road vehicles are equipped with a cabin more spacious than the previous type, plus the addition of resting equipment enabling the operator to take restful breaks from his job. An up-to-date instrument cluster in Bahasa Indonesia helps to absorb all vital information.

In terms of safety, a number of top features ensure greater security conditions for the operator. These additions are: Hill Hold, Anti-lock Brakes System (ABS), and Traction Control. The Hill Hold feature (temporary hand brake) is very useful since it will prevent the truck from rolling back when, after a momentary stop uphill, the driver, on resuming the climb, moves his foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. The ABS and traction control features function to ensure easy control of the truck in a sudden braking situation.

Another feature is a driver support, which provides useful driving tips, feedback, and assessment of the driving experience on the last trip. This feature will encourage drivers to continue improving their driving behavior in order to use as little fuel as possible.
