Scania Bus K250UB-4X2 Low Entry BRT Trans Semarang Trial

On November 11th, 2019, Scania Low Entry Bus K250UB-4×2 is conducted for trial within one month in Semarang. The bus is tested on Corridor 1 for Mangkang Terminal to Penggaron Terminal with 23.75 km for single trip. Scania Low Entry Bus is scheduled for 2 trips in the morning and 2 trips for afternoon. For the information, Corridor 1 is considered as the most crowded among other corridors.

Scania Low Entry has various safety features including Fleet Management Services (FMS), Low Entry Ramp Door Wheel Chair Sign and Button Area. Scania Low Entry bus offer facilitate easier friendly access for elderly passengers, difable and those with special needs who use wheel chairs and prams. The response of the citizen was also positive regarding Scania Low Entry bus trial. Scania Low Entry buses are always full of passengers who want to feel the bus’s features and performance.

Along with the Scania Low Entry trial, Trans Semarang launched a new corridor on December 6, 2019 at the Jatibarang Reservoir, namely Corridor 8, Feeder 1 at Corridor 9, and feeder 2 at Corridor 10. By 2019, Trans Semarang already has 10 Corridors and 1 route with a total of 157 units. The Trans Semarang target is in accordance with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), which are 12 Corridors and the addition of bus units in 2020.
